I am a KS1 teacher with experience in Leeds, Wakefield, Nottingham and Preston. Currently teaching year 1 in Northampton. I found a huge lack of suitable resources, so instead of creating quick resources to use and chuck, I dedicated my time to creating quality resources based on what my classroom needed. Everything I sell has been used in my own classroom, is based on the national curriculum/letters and sounds phonics scheme, and is presented to a high quality. Please leave feedback!

FREE! Phonics - Phase 3 - Word Sort - er

(3)
Read each word and decide whether it has the target phoneme in it. If it does, they place it in the column headed ‘ar’. If it doesn’t, they place it in the column headed ‘not ar’. For added challenge, they can write out the words in each column instead. Aside from your standard sorting activity, this has been successfully used as a relay race/scavenger hunt. Hide the cards around the classroom, send the children off to look for them in relay fashion or in teams. A taster of a larger word sort package available in my shop. As always, this resource is made using the OpenDyslexic font. We are dyslexia friendly!

Here's a sneaky preview of what Vorst has to say! Each phoneme has a monster with their own individual story to match. Each story features multiple examples of the target phoneme. I've tried to keep as many words as possible to phase 3 sounds, so your children can read and enjoy the stories. As always, my products are made using the OpenDyslexic font, to help our dyslexic learners. We are dyslexia friendly!
